UENR Team Placed Second at 2023 Enactus National Competition, University of Energy and Natural Resources - Sunyani

UENR Team was placed second at the 2023 Enactus National Competition which was an improvement on the 2022 competition. This year’s competition took place at the Accra International Conference Center on July 06, 2023, and saw the number of participating universities increase from eight in 2022 to twelve. Enactus UENR Chapter was placed in League 1 with Takoradi Technical University, University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa (UMaT), University of Ghana, C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science Technology, which the Team qualified out of their league and made it to the finals.

The Enactus UENR Team was represented by Blay Hemanns Anderson (President), Nyarko Emmanuel (Vice President and project lead) and Graf Maureen Amoah (General Secretary), Obeng Mensa Caleb (Presenter), Evans Asamoah (Presenter), Isabella Danso (Presenter), Antoinette Konama Goode (Presenter), and Mr. James Boatin.

 Enactus UENR presented their project CASAFLOUR, a novelty that processes cassava into flour that can be used in baking to support the baking industry, create more jobs, to improve the lives of farmers in cassava growing communities and reduce prices of pastries and other flour-based products. With this performance, the team is determined to win the next competition and represent the country at the Enactus World Cup.

Enactus is a network of leaders committed to using business as a catalyst for positive social and environmental impact. The Enactus Ghana National Competition is an annual event that gives students a platform to showcase projects dedicated to making the world a better place while also developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. Projects must demonstrate sustainability, entrepreneurial action, value for people, commercial viability, and environmental sensitivity
