Vice-Chancellor Charges Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments/Centers to Work Hard and Stand Out for Development of the University

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako has charged Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and Centers of the University to work hard and stand out for the development of the University. He reminded them that they are a representation of his leadership at their various offices and urged them to serve and lead to advance the course of the University.

Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako was addressing the Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and Centers at an orientation and training programme organized by the Human Resources Division on September 28, 2023 at the University Auditorium. The Vice-Chancellor reiterated his vision in placing the University as a world class academic institution, which calls for support at all levels of management in realizing the vision. He used the opportunity to congratulate them for their appointment.

The Registrar of the University, Solomon Panford Esq, APR in his presentation highlighted on the qualities of a leader and subsequently encouraged participants to know their roles and responsibilities.

Presenting on Financial Management, the Director of Finance, Mr. Paul Nana-Nketiah focused on Basic Financial Procedures and Regulations such as income generation, budgeting and budgetary control, payroll, payment procedures, and impress administration. He advised participants to know the laws and regulations guiding financial management and follow them diligently to avoid any financial infractions in the discharge of their duties.

The Head of the Human Resources Division, Mr. Hayford Asare offered a refresher on general Human Resources issues. He enlightened participants about their privileges and how to maximize them effectively. He further emphasized on the importance of effective communication regarding recruitment processes, promotions, leaves, and other related matters. He stressed on the need for them to prepare ahead of time in meeting deadlines for promotions.

Besides these presentations, the Ag. Director of the Internal Audit Directorate, Rosina Asamoah; the Ag. Director of Procurement, Mr. Siddick John-Baptist; Head of Quality Assurance and Academic Planning Directorate, Prof. Mrs. Mercy Efua Derkyi; Ag. Director of IT, Dr. Gilbert K. Mensah; and the University Examinations Officer, Mr. Johnson D. Ankamah took turns to present on topics related to their respective offices, providing a fair knowledge of how each of these offices operates.
