There are many psychological issues that students struggle with as they face the challenges of the academic year. Some of these concerns may include; Stress and Anxiety, Depression, Sleep Problems, Procrastination, Test Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Anger, Lack of Assertiveness and Perfectionism which can hinder one’s Self Development. Whiles Self Development is a life-long process. It is way for people to assess their skills and qualities, consider their aims in life and set goals in order to realize and maximize their potentials.
The University of Energy and Natural Resources Guidance and Counselling Unit focuses on how to identify these Psychological Issues and provide support for students who are struggling with these problems. The Guidance and Counselling Unit through the various services provided, focuses on student’s self-development and is ready and available to make significant positive changes in the lives of students, making their overall University experience exciting, rewarding and appropriately challenging, rather than frustrating, stressful and overwhelming.
At the University of Energy and Natural Resources, the goal is to build our students into “whole persons” this includes their emotional, intellectual, cultural, vocational and spiritual lives. We have a Chaplaincy that seeks to help students in their spiritual growth headed by a Reverend Minister and supported by the Student Chaplaincy Council.
