LECTURER
Engineering
Dr. Mark Amo-Boateng obtained his Bachelor of Science (Hon) in Civil Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He had his first MSc in Water Resources Engineering and Management also at KNUST. In 2013, he obtained his Ph.D. Hydrology and Water Resources at Hohai University in Nanjing, China.
Dr. Mark Amo-Boateng joined the University of Energy and Natural Resources as a lecturer at the Department of Energy and Environmental Engineering. Ever since, he has contributed to establishing strong national and international collaborations with institutions including XPRIZE, ITU, NVIDIA (USA), Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Ghana National Fire Science, Forestry Commission of Ghana, National Disaster Management Organization, Environmental Protection Agency and several private individuals. These collaborations established are essential in uplifting the image of the University and creating a pool of potential opportunities for the University in the long term.
Within UENR, Dr. Amo-Boateng has been teaching courses such as Fluid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Environmental Instrumentation and Systems Control, Engineering Economics and Entrepreneurship, Computer Programming for Engineers, Energy Operations and Supply Chain Management, Innovations Management. He has also won a number of strategic projects for the University. During his tenure as head of EORIC, he has also organized two workshops that brought together stakeholders from government and private institutions to the UENR campus to learn about the new technologies at managing resources efficiently using satellite technology. Other key initiatives being initiated by him includes the establishment of the High-Performance Computing Research Lab for the University.
Nationally, Dr. Amo-Boateng published over 20 articles in over 10 different international journals. He is also a certified instructor for Deep Learning Institute (NVIDIA, USA) and an ambassador for NVIDIA Deep Learning Ambassador Programme. This is a global initiative towards the development and sharing of deep learning programming skills for improving life on earth.”
