The UENR Basic School (UBS) has held its 3rd Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the school premises. Management, staff and parents came together to celebrate the successful completion of early childhood education and witness the formal entry into primary school of their wards.
Chairing the occasion, Professor Ricky Yao Nutsugbodo congratulated the pupils on reaching their first academic milestone and commended them for their remarkable growth over the years. He reflected on their journey from learning their first words and writing their names to developing friendships, confidence and empathy.
Prof. Nutsugbodo also praised the dedication and patience of the teaching staff in nurturing the children and encouraged the graduands to remain curious, dream big and embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. He reminded parents that education is built not only on academic excellence but also on empathy, friendship and continuous encouragement.
Delivering his remarks, Headmaster of the UENR Basic School, Mr. Anthony Asamoah, expressed appreciation to parents for their unwavering support and sacrifices throughout their children’s educational journey. He urged them to continue partnering with the school while cautioning against rushing children through the various stages of education, stressing that strong foundational learning is essential to their long-term academic success.
Mr. Asamoah disclosed that most of the graduands can now read fluently, reflecting the school’s commitment to quality foundational education. He further announced the introduction of co-curricular programmes, including a Cadet Corps and a Mental Mathematics Pilot Programme, aimed at promoting holistic child development.
The Assistant Headmistress, Madam Doris Amoah Asante, recounted the pupils’ early days at the school when many arrived as hesitant toddlers and expressed pride in witnessing their transformation into confident, enthusiastic and capable learners.
She noted that the UENR Basic School is committed to nurturing not only academic excellence but also values such as respect, resilience, discipline and a lifelong love for learning. Madam Asante thanked both teachers and parents for their collaborative efforts in supporting the children’s growth and assured the graduands that they are well prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.
The ceremony featured captivating performances by the graduands, including choreography, poetry recitals and demonstrations of academic excellence, delighting parents and guests while showcasing the knowledge, confidence, and talents acquired during their time at the school.
