ENSURING EFFECTIVE MULTICAMPUS SYSTEM: UENR MANAGEMENT ENGAGES DORMAA CAMPUS TO FOSTER COLLABORATION

In a bid to ensure effective multicampus system and collaboration, the leadership of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in a comprehensive meeting engaged both staff and students at the Dormaa campus on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako, led the University Management team to embark on a mission to address concerns and foster a collaborative approach towards the development of the Dormaa campus and the University at large.

Setting the tone for the engagement, the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Georgina Asi Owusu, underscored the institution’s firm commitment to the advancement of the Dormaa Campus. She reassured the staff of Management’s dedication to listening to their grievances and dismissed any notions of neglect.

During the session, staff raised various challenges, including insufficient internet connectivity, inadequate office space, and the lack of dedicated facilities for practical sessions.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako acknowledged their concerns and assured them that discussions are ongoing to provide lasting solutions to the challenges faced. He disclosed plans for infrastructure improvements, including road networks, lighting, and hostel facilities, underlining Management’s commitment to enhance campus life for both staff and students.

The Vice-Chancellor further commended the resilience of the staff and urged them to be patient as long-term solutions were being implemented. He reiterated the importance of ongoing communication and encouraged the timely submission of budgets and requisitions for further actions.

Further addressing the student body, the Management touched on some concerns ranging from infrastructure inadequacies to transportation issues. Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako reassured the students of prompt action and encouraged collaboration for a smoother experience.

In a closing statement, the Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the challenges faced by students but urged them to remain focused on their studies and contribute positively to the growth of UENR.

The Management also used the opportunity to pay a working visit to the Gyaasehene of Dormaa Ahenkro Traditional Council, to strengthen the University’s relationship with the local community. Through open dialogue and proactive measures, UENR’s leadership demonstrated a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive multi-campus environment, ensuring the holistic development of its staff, students, and surrounding community.
