Fire Conference 2026 Draws Thousands to UENR for Four Days of Revival and Transformation

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) witnessed an extraordinary atmosphere of worship, revival, and spiritual transformation as the Students’ Chaplaincy Council (SCC), under the auspices of the University Chaplain, in collaboration with The Church of Pentecost, hosted Fire Conference 2026 from 2nd to 5th July 2026 on the University Field on the theme, “Jesus, the Unspeakable Gift of God” (2 Corinthians 9:15).

Speaking after the event, University Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Asamoah, disclosed that the conference recorded a cumulative attendance of 17,002, making it one of the largest Christian gatherings ever hosted on the UENR campus. He described the conference as spiritually impactful, revealing that 187 people accepted Jesus Christ, 75 converts were baptised by immersion, and 66 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. According to him, all new converts have been assigned to discipleship groups to nurture their spiritual growth and facilitate their integration into Christian fellowship.

Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi

The conference featured anointed ministers of The Church of Pentecost, who delivered messages centred on the theme of God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, ministered on God’s indescribable gift to humanity, urging participants to receive and cherish Jesus Christ as God’s greatest gift to the world. Opening the conference, National Youth Director, Apostle Dr. Ebenezer Hagan, preached on the immeasurable gift of salvation available through Jesus Christ, while Area Head, Duayaw Nkwanta Area, Prophet Dr. Fred Antwi, built on the conference theme and led participants in an intensive session of prayer on the second night.

Council of State Member Odeneho Dr Afram Brempong III, Bono Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako graced the thanksgiving service on Sunday.

Held as the climax of the Students’ Chaplaincy Council (SCC) Week Celebration, Fire Conference 2026 provided an opportunity for students and members of the University community to deepen their faith while reaffirming UENR’s commitment to the holistic development of students through the promotion of spiritual, moral and academic excellence.
