HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION HOLDS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR NEWLY APPOINTED SENIOR STAFF

The Human Resources Division of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) held an orientation programme for newly appointed Senior Staff of the University on March 26, 2021. The programme was organised to acquaint the staff with their duties and the University management system.

The participants were taken through by the Resource Persons on various topics such as Procurement Procedures and Regulations, Financial Procedures and Regulations within the University, Planning for a Happy Retirement among others.

Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako addressing the Staff

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako welcomed the new staff in his address as the Guest Speaker. He said though UENR is a young University, it has made a lot of strides to become one of the most excellent academic institutions in the country and globally and so does its services as the staff of the University is required to achieve these goals. He admonished them to imbibe in the affairs of the University and become good ambassadors of the University. The Vice-Chancellor further urged the staff to develop and upgrade themselves for the opportunities ahead of them in their career.

Mr. Solomon Panford Esq 

The Registrar, Mr. Solomon Panford, Esq. took the participants through the topic “Developing the Right Attitude for Excellence”. He urged the staff to develop a positive attitude towards work and be professional in the discharge of their duties to increase the integrity of the University.

The Acting Head of the Human Resources Division of the University, Mr. Alfred Ohenenana Appiah delivering on the topic “Effective Governance, Administrative Structure and Systems of the University”, made the staff understand that every institution has its governance system and structure hence they should appreciate and familiarize themselves with the that of UENR.
Mr. Appiah further took participants through the governance hierarchy of the University explaining to them the functions of the various Officers of the University management system. He also took the new staff through promotional, leave and other benefits as staff of the University. He urged them to follow the right procedure in addressing their grievances.
