The Human Resources Division (HRD) of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) on March 19, 2024 collaborated with MES Equipment Limited to organize a maiden edition of a Four-day Capacity Building Training for Laboratory Technicians of the University.
Gracing the training session, the Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John K. M. Kuwornu was pleased with the initiative. He remarked on the need for the Technicians to continue the hard work in aiding laboratory research activities undertaken by students of the University to be globally competitive.

The programme was aimed at training science lab technicians on general Laboratory equipment repairs and analytical equipment application. The Facilitators from MES Equipment Limited educated participants on ensuring quality control and proper use of lab equipment, accessing machines before use and the need to understand how to use machines through professional training and not relying heavily on personal experience. The participants were urged to pay much attention during the reading of manuals, calibration, preventive maintenance and safety precautions.

Some of the personalities present included the Head of HRD, Mr. Hayford Asare; Ms. Juliet Benewaa Assumeng, Assistant Registrar and Head of the Training and Development Section of the HRD; Dr. Selina Ama Saah, Head of the Department of Chemical Sciences; Prof. Francis Attiogbe, Dean of the School of Engineering and Mr. David Adu Poku, Coordinator for Distance Education and E-Learning.
