Following the armed robbery attack on some UENR Students who were returning from an academic field trip from the Bui Power Authority on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the University Management has held meetings with the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Owusu-Banahene and the Regional Police Command led by ACP/Mr. George Andrews Kumah (2IC) to discuss the way forward in managing the disturbing incident.
Among the issues discussed were arrangements for the deceased student, continuous counselling for the remaining victims and police investigations to arrest the culprits as well as other measures to ensure that life normalises for the victims.
The Regional Minister described the incident as unfortunate and pledged her continuous support to ensure that the Regional Security Council would continuously investigate the case as well as provide any security support to the University, especially in its difficult moment. She joined the University Mangement to visit the victims to empathise with them.

In a related development, Management also received a delegation led by the Community Relations Manager at Bui Power Authority, Mr. Paul Abugri who commiserated with the University over the sad incident. They pledged their unflinching support to the University to ensure that life gets back to normalcy.

Appiah and the SRC President, Gideon Aidoo.
