A delegation from Zonda Tec Ghana Limited paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako, on July 1, 2026, to explore opportunities for collaboration in student training, internships, and industry partnerships.
The delegation was led by Mr. Steven Cevo and received by the Vice-Chancellor, together with the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Mensah Kuwornu; the Dean of the School of Engineering, Prof. Emmanuel Kwesi Nyantakyi; Transport Engineer, Ebenezer Tetteh; and staff of the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering; a Senior Assistant Registrar at the University Relations Office, Rev. Kwaku Amoah Karikari; and a representative from Internal Audit, Mr. Richard Twum Barimah.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Asare-Bediako noted that the proposed collaboration aligns with the University’s commitment to industry engagement and equipping students with practical skills that complement their academic training. He proposed the establishment of a hands-on training and workshop facility on campus where students and staff of the University’s engineering programmes could receive technical instruction in vehicle technology and maintenance, producing graduates better prepared for the demands of the job market.
The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the University’s Agricultural Mechanisation programme as an area with potential for industry collaboration and expressed openness to exploring specialised training initiatives that would further strengthen students’ technical competencies.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Steven Cevo expressed appreciation for the warm reception and noted that Zonda Tec Ghana views universities as strategic partners in developing industry-ready graduates. He indicated the company’s willingness to explore internship arrangements, technical training programmes, and long-term collaborative initiatives that would give students direct exposure to emerging technologies in the automotive industry. Discussions also touched on potential business opportunities between the University and Zonda Tec Ghana, including vehicle acquisition arrangements and after-sales support services.
