OUR ADMISSION IS OPEN TO YOU – DR. GEORGE KWADWO ANANE TELLS MUSLIM COMMUNITY

The Acting Head of Academic and Students Affairs Division, Dr. George Kwadwo Anane has indicated that the University of Energy and Natural Resources’ admission for the 2022/2023 academic year is open. He indicated that admission is ongoing and the University is admitting students into the various Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in the eight schools of the University. He emphasized that the admission is open to anyone who qualifies irrespective of their religious background.

Dr. Anane said this when a delegation made up of Mr. Benjamin Gyamera (Public Relations and Protocol Officer), Imam Mohammed Issaka (Imam for Muslim Community, UENR and a Lecturer) and Kenneth Quayson (Senior Administrative Assistant, URO) of the University paid a courtesy call on the Chief Imam for the Bono Region, Sunyani, on September 1, 2022 at his residency. The visit was to advise and encourage the Muslim community to take advantage of the University and enrol in the various degree programmes offered at the University. Dr. George Anane indicated that the University is a non-partisan and non-religious institution ready to admit without prejudice and discriminations. 

The Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Umar Abdul-Qadir expressed his joy over the visit and disclosed that he was present some 10 years ago for the inauguration of the University in 2011 and he is happy that the University has developed drastically to perform the purpose for which it was established. He pledged his support to ensure that his members benefit immensely from the University. He also showed their preparedness to collaborate with the University for sustainable growth of the University. 

Some of the other members with the Chief Imam were Imam Abdul – Mumin Sualih (Second Deputy Regional Chief Imam), Imam Ahmed Abdallah (Deputy Regional Imam of Ghana Muslim Mission, Wala Imam, Imam Umar Abdullah (Imam of Bennue Nkwanta) and the Secretary to the Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Suallah Abdallah Quandah.
