HOW TO APPLY

All prospective applicants must read the Application Guidelines & Entry Requirements attached on Programme Requirements, How to Apply, and any other important information about the University.  Prospective applicants must only begin the application process after carefully reading the instructions.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (Summary)
ALL UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

● WASSCE and SSSCE holders with credit passes (A1-C6)/(A-D) respectively in three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, and three (3) elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

● ADVANCED BUSINESS CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (ABCE) holders with passes in three (3) compulsory subjects plus three (3) optional subjects relevant to the Programme of study.

● GENERAL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (GBCE) holders with credit passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

● GCE ADVANCED LEVEL holders with credit in at least Five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English and Mathematics, plus at least two passes in the subjects relevant to the programme of study.

● HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) holders with relevant working experience in addition to the minimum entry requirements at WASSCE/SSSCE or Five (5) GCE O’ Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics. Applicants may be asked to write an entrance examination and/or attend an interview as part of the admission process.

● DIPLOMA HOLDERS with University of Energy and Natural Resources Diplomas or recognised equivalents with relevant working experience may be considered for admission. Applicants may be asked to write an entrance examination and/or attend an interview as part of the admission process. Applicants will be admitted to either Level 200 or Level 300 based on their FGPA and area of study.

● OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Other qualifications acceptable for consideration include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, American Grade 13 Examinations and other external qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).

● FOREIGN APPLICANTS who have any of the above qualifications or their equivalences from an accredited/recognized institution.
NB: International students must submit their certificates to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for evaluation and attach the report(s) to the application form.

● MATURE APPLICANTS
Applicants must be at least 25 years old at the time of application and must meet the requirements of the programme into which they are applying. They must also pass the Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.

ALL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

● WASSCE holders with credit passes (A1-C6) in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, plus two credit passes (A1-C6) in two elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.

2025 WASSCE CANDIDATES

CANDIDATES FOR THE WEST AFRICAN SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION, 2025 can also apply. Such applicants must select “Awaiting Results” in place of the grade in the online application portal.
